John Brady's 1st Bama Game!

September 21, 2013

John Brady... as I mentioned in my previous post. Mommy took a long long break from writing things down. I didn't do it because things were not important I had a lot to juggle. I am going to try to remember that day to the best of my ability for you months later.

I remember Papa & Nana bought you a jersey and football pants and brought them when they came on Friday night and you were so excited. We left Beckett at home with Aunt Hannah. We stopped on the way at a Chickfila and got you some minis for the road. I remember Nana had a staple in her biscuit...major party foul. The first place we stopped was The Shirt Shop. Here is a picture of you and daddy outside the store!

We also ventured to the Locker Room and got you a visor.
I remember going to the hotel to see the team leave and riding the bus to the stadium. You were so excited...you marched your way all the way up to your seat and were very entertained with all the pre-game festivities. You had a shaker and a mini football in your hand. I know you talked about AJ a lot and really liked the band. I know the minute the band came out and all the pre-game things began your eyes were wide and you were amazed with it all. I looked at everyone's face and we were all shedding tears just watching you. I think we were all happy for you and to see the look on your face but i think deep down we were all crying because we all knew that was probably the only game Nana would get to take you to and see your face. We all swallowed with a frog in our throat and tears in our eyes. I am so glad we got to share that moment together. I know i don't remember every detail but I do remember the emotion and the look on your face and everyone else's. I can't tell you if you had nachos or popcorn but that really doesn't matter. I just know it was a happy day but a sad day inside to most of us. We knew the real importance of that day as we were beginning to tread the water of what we were realizing as our "lasts" with Nana. Here are some pictures of the day and some of them say enough. I guess if I had to tell you anything about that day...one thing I would want you to know it would be that Nana never complained. She was worn out walking up all the stairs and we had to stop and take breaks and I held your hand with tears rolling down my face knowing the struggle for her but knowing how badly she wanted to take you...and she got to and it was awesome. Thank you for being a good boy that day and we all enjoyed that so much. She toughed through it all and would have done it over and over given the chance to take in your happiness. We love you son and this was a precious day. Every time I step in Bryant Denny for years to come I will remember the feelings I had that day. I hope these pictures help you see.

I would like to add that you were pooped after this day and fell asleep on the car ride home and we carried you straight to bed in jersey and all. <3
