Disney Day 6: Part III - Epcot

Hello from Epcot, our last adventure on this trip. =(

We got a little pep in our step after resting on the air conditioned bus on the way to Epcot. Once we arrived we headed straight for the Mexican Pavillion to grab lunch and ride the three cabbalerros. On the way we lucked into running into Donald with no line! This was great because John Brady got to run right up to him and have more than a minute to see him up close. We got some cute pics and then headed for lunch. Drew and I enjoyed cold margaritas on the rocks with some nachos and JB had an entire order of guac and chips. We rode three cabbalerros and then took a spin around the whole park to help walk off the lunch! We had plans to do more than what we did but it came a DOWNPOUR! We opted to go inside and meet all the characters again...after all this is the reason we came to Disney. We knew John Brady would enjoy it and we weren't up for running around the park in the rain. JB got to see all his favorite characters one last time before we darted for the exit and headed back to the room. Sad times...we got JB his bath and all cozy while we packed up our things to be ready to head out early tomorrow morning. I told JB "mommy is packing are you ready to go home?" He whimpered and said "Mickeeyy" in a pitaful voice. We had so much fun on our trip and it exceeded our expectations. We had no clue what to expect with 8 hours in the car with two little ones, parks with a toddler, a park with a baby one day in the SUMMER, etc.

Once I get home, get unpacked and settled I plan to do a post with my tips on traveling to Disney with young ones or traveling there in general! Also, what I do and don't recommend along with some money saving ideas or areas you might need to expect to splurge, etc.

Disney Day 6: Part II - Animal Kingdom Park

After we finished breakfast we headed straight to the Safari fastpass distribution center to get our passes for later. Once we did that we left for the Pangani Trek. This walk through trek took about 20 minutes and we got to see many different animals but the best was the GORILLAS!! They were so awesome to watch. One of the moms had a little tiff with another mom and the daddy gorilla(see below) busted up the tiff. There was lots of noise and boy did he get over there quick. I am glad we got to see them in action it was cool and JB was super impressed with all the gorillas. He didn't want to leave them. After the trek we headed to the Safari...again awesome! We rode in a safari jeep with a guide and saw everything from elephants, crocodiles, giraffes, hippos, rhinos, lions, etc. John Brady didn't move a muscle other than to point to the animals or blink. He was in awe of all the animals and really enjoyed it. Next we were off with the Jungle trek, where we saw tigers, bats, and more. From there we headed to Asia for the Expedition Everest rollercoaster, Dinoland for the Tricerotop spin ride for JB and Boneyard playground. We finished the park with the Lion King show, which was super entertaining. I would recommend the show for kids! Today was super hot so we didn't want to push it with JB. We decided to change it up and cool off on the bus on the way to Epcot and go grab a late lunch.

This giraffe was one foot away from our jeep! JB loved it!

Disney Day 6: Part I - Tusker House

Good Morning from Animal Kingdom's Tusker House! Good thing I woke up hungry this morning. I have no clue how my stomach was growling at 7 am after last nights eating frenzy, but good thing it was. Drew, John Brady and I had breakfsast reservations at Tusker House. This was a character breakfast and also an all you can eat buffet. The food was great..way better than O'hana. We decided the next time we come we will skip O'hana breakfast and do this one. It does require a park admission to AK but the food options are way better as are the characters. We munched on cheese grits, tater tots, Mickey waffles, fruit, biscuits, sausage, chocolate chip croissants, quiche, etc. The list goes on...we got a little of everything between the three of us and snacked off of each others plates. I have decided, to make myself feel better, that good thing we walk all day because it helps burn off the insane calories we have been taking in.

We arrived to the breakfast at 8:10 and met Donald right away. John Brady warmed up to him better than any character up to this point. We got our picture with Donald and headed inside...ate all the above listed while waiting for Mickey, Daisy and Goofy to make the rounds. They did a Jambo dance with the kids and musical instruments...and of course our child did not want to return his instrument of quit dancing with Daisy. He was not liking the fact he had to wait his turn to see the characters after the dancing...that was interesting! JB enjoyed seeing all the characters today and actually talked to them and reached out to gave them high fives and tried to hug their legs. We had a blast and we would do that breakfast again over O'hana 10 out of 10 times....off to the park! Read about that next!

Disney Day 5

After our busy and long day at the parks yesterday, today was going to be a playground and pool day for sure. We started the morning off at the pool. All six of us went to the pool. Nanny and Poppi enjoyed watching JB play in the water. He kept coming up to them and saying "nanny swimming" or "papa swimming" wanting them to get in the water with him...and of course they did. He played with other kids in the water and some of their toys...until he wanted to jump in "self!!" We only let him jump in holding our hands and he was trying to take off running and jumping...this resulted in us leaving after about an hour at the pool.

After the pool we went in to make lunch and get ready. We went to Orlando's premium outlets. They had everything!! It was the biggest outlet I had ever been to. They had J crew, Burberry, Tory Burch, Gap, Crocs, Joes, Cole Hann... I mean everything!
We first went to Crocs and got John Brady some cute crocs for next Spring/Summer. We popped in and out of many stores...and I even got to pick out some birthday treats! =)

After we shopped we took JB to the playground at the resort to wear him out for mom and dad. Drew and I had dinner reservations tonight at Narcossee's at The Grand Floridian. We wanted to make sure the boys were as easy as possible for mom and dad. We played hard with JB, gave him a bath and fed him so all they had to do when we left was brush his teeth and lay him in the bed. We got Beckett all situated too! Drew and I enjoyed a great dinner overlooking the lagoon. We shared two appetizers (crab cakes with a sweet potato salad and fried calamari with a pepperoncini drizzle over top)...they were both out of this world. For our entree we split the two pound lobster with a side of these sinful potatoes, which were creamy and baconyyyy...delightful and rich. Of course, since we never eat out alone, I decided to go all out and get a dessert! Bad idea...I was miserable after dinner! I got this warm chocolate cake with a bourbon caramel drizzle...Drew only had one bite and totally left me hanging! Oh well - it was really good, although I felt horrible! Nighty Night! Tomorrow is a really busy day. We have breakfast reservations and a full day at the parks.

Disney Day 4 - slow down... I am not ready to go home

Magic Kingdom day two! All six of us made the trek to Magic Kingdom today. We arrived at 9 am when they opened and headed straight for Fantasyland. We started with It's a Small World again, this time JB got to ride with mommy, poppi & nanny. Drew decided he would hang back with Beckett. We then headed to the Carosuel, Mad Tea Cups, Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, Dumbo, Barnstormer. After we finished up Fantasyland we headed to lunch in Tomorrowland and rode Buzz Lightyear. Before we left I did Space Mountain twice, once with dad and once with Drew. We decided to leave around 2 pm. It was only getting hotter and I did not want to keep Beckett in the heat any longer.

We jumped on the monorail to head back. Dad & I got off at the ticket center and caught a bus to MGM while Drew and mom took the boys back to the room. John Brady got to go swimming again while my mom kept an eye on Beckett. Dad & I got to do our favorites like old times, Tower of Terror and Rock n Rollercoaster. We rode each ride twice and then dad met Drew at the gate where Drew hopped out of the car and dad jumped in. Drew and I finished the day riding Tower of Terror 2 times and Rock n Rollercoaster 4 times. I had a BANGING headache by the end of the day. We headed to our bus stop around 8:35 and the bus picked us up at 8:45. Whew what a long day for everyone...I was wiped out! My feet and my head were killing me and I fell asleep on the couch almost right after i got back to the room. Another great day!
I am ready for our chill day tomorrow!

My least favorite ride...only for my boy!
