ZOO ZOO

checking out the lions
This weekend Drew & I took John Brady to Mountain Brook, Alabama to the "zoo zoo" as he calls it. He loves all different animals and can do lots of their noises and say what they are... so we thought this was a fun age for his first zoo trip.

He talked about "rafs" the whole ride up there and looked at his Elmo goes to the zoo book to get ready. Every time I asked him "John Brady where are we going?"  he quickly replied "zoo zoo!"

His favorite animals were the African wild dogs, giraffes, lions and spider monkeys. He did a great job cruising in his stroller and getting out at different exhibits to see the animals. We finished the adventure with lunch in Mountain Brook. The weather was beautiful and we drove around and looked at homes for sale in the area afterwards.

28 weeks pregnant

Today I had my 28 week check up with Dr. Vick. I was in and out of the doc in a flash.
Not many updates this time around. I have gained about 8 lbs total at this point but my stomach is measuring right on track although I haven't gained too much weight. Blood pressure 98/60 and was told that I look perfect on paper. Baby Beckett is busy sitting on my bladder and kicking all over the place. I love to see and feel him move. He loves when I sing to John Brady at night...not sure why...atleast someone likes it! =)

At this point it is starting to warm up .....YAY! I only have about 8 outfit options I like ... so it being warmer is nice. I have a strapless maxi dress in about every color or pattern I can find. Doesn't matter if it is cold or warm maxi dress it is. It is all I am comfy in at this point. I had on some shorts the other day with my belly band and was MISERABLE!

Baby Beckett is doing great and Drew and I get to see him in two weeks for the 4-D ultrasound. I love when I get to see him and haven't seen him since 20 weeks. I will see him at 30 and then not again until I hold him in my arms!
His organic linen bedding from Restortation Hardware arrived this week ...I was so antsy to see it! I unboxed it washed and steamed it and put it right on the bed. I will post pics of Nursery in a few weeks once I get things up on the wall and the final touches done! I haven't had to purchase much new stuff for Beckett but the few things I have purchased ... I have had fun doing.
I have purchased him a few outfits and three that match with John Brady for the summer. I can't wait to see my two little boys in their matching outfits this summer! It is late...I need to sleep!

Finally...a post about the tent we made JB

Pinterest Project Success

Back in January I saw a post about a mother who created a tent by using PVC pipes and their fittings along with fabric. I looked at the pictures and it seemed easy enough.

As always, I had no patience to get going. Drew and I went directly to Home Depot and purchased roughly $35 worth of PVC pipes and all the appropriate fittings. Surprisingly, I figured out all the right pieces the first time and we didn't have to go back. We took all the materials to my parents because my dad had just the tools to get the job done...and they have the space to set up the tent!

After about two hours of measuring, marking, sawing and piecing together here is the structure dad and I put together.

That was the easy part...

Next, mom did lots of measuring to determine how much fabric we needed to do the walls and roof of the play house.
We went to Hancocks and purchased about 16 yards of muslin, brown fabric to trim it in, and velcro.

At this point Drew and I have about $ 75 in the tent and mom did the hard part...sewing it all together. She made the walls first and looped them around the PVC and attached velcro to each side so the walls could slide back and forth.
Last, she did the roof and we were ready! Drew and I used some pillows we already had and two pillows mom made, one being the floor pillow. I also put a basket of his favorite books inside along with his Mickey blanket and pillow. He loves it! It is quite cozy I must say and even Poppi, who measures 6'6 can fit in there with JB.

Thanks parents for helping make John Brady's cute tent!

Moving on...House is officially on the market!

Today is a happy day! Drew and I finally got our house listed. Step 1 to the moving to Birmingham process.
 1. Must list house in order to sell it so here we go!!!

We are excited about what our future holds. We have visited Birmingham many times and even toured some Elementary schools to get a feel. We won't move right away...depends on when we sell the house. We want to stay with my parents a few months until Beckett is born and I am settled into life as a mom of two children under 2 1/2. We would hate to move and be getting settled in a new city with a newborn baby....anywho...updates will come.
Here are some pics that were listed on the realtor website of our house...This is for John Brady to show him a few snapshots of his first house...the house he came home to...took his first steps and had his first Christmas. Bittersweet!

j.b. in his "big boy room" & "big boy bed

Tonight was the first night for John Brady to sleep in his new big boy room. He has his own twin bed with a rail...hopefully to avoid any injury. There is an extra twin bed in there which he likes to call "mama' bed". He went down like a dream and was so excited about his new room. We had it all set up to his liking so he would be interested. He has a tent in the corner which matches his bedding. The tent is full of floor pillows, throw pillows, blocks & books. He has two twin beds with pottery barn bedding, a bedside table with lamp and monitor, along with his rocking horse and a chest with toys inside. We kept it simple at first to avoid any injury and have it as child proof as possible.

I have things set aside for his hanging on his wall and additional decor once he is not so curious and into destroying things. He has his dads and both grand dad's old baseball gloves in a shadow box, autographed baseballs, basketballs and his great grand dad's college football cleats. Lots of neat and memorable pieces to go with his "vintage & clean cut simple sports room"

I am so proud of my big boy in his own big boy room a month before he turns two!
